The shield is divided per bend sinister. Or left to right. It is called sinister because in many religions, cultures, and historical times the left hand or side is deemed impure, tainted or evil. It seemed appropriate. The left side is black with red drops of blood. Visually these colors are balanced. This represents the balance between life and death. The right side contains a black compass rose. This represents the guidance, knowledge, and above all the example our Clan strives to be for other vampires in the city.
